I like painting in monochrome. I was especially inspired to do so in this pose here. Leslie’s eyes, body and hands are just so strong and full of life experience.
If it had been a longer pose I may have pushed the vintage portrait theme more, but I am pleased that I’m able to look at a model and become inspired, on the spot, rather than feel like each time I need to plan ahead what I’m going to work on.
And also being able to picture what the background is going to look like, on the spot.
Even if the result isn’t exactly what I had in mind, it’s nice to begin to feel more spontaneous.
