Monochromatic again, although here I thought I would give the sumi-e brush (that my mum recently gave me) a try.
I like the brush!
I only decided to use it halfway through, and so hence why it’s not really sumi-e (there’s other brushes being used, and also build lines. And anyway it’s watercolour).
But there’s that feel about it, that I’d like to explore more.
My mum, incidentally, is an amazing artist. When we lived in Japan when I was a kid, she picked up sumi-e as if she’d been doing it for years, winning national prizes and earning her own stamp. She mastered ikebana as well (Japanese flower arrangement) and earned the title of Sensei in that.
