181 – Tasha 1

1000 drawings, Life drawing

image

You do know this blog is a record of ALL my drawings, right? Good and bad…

So here’s one I contemplated not posting, because it’s a failed experiment.

The drawing underneath was just watercolour and black ink. The pose was amazing but I didn’t do it justice. So when I got home, I thought it was the perfect candidate for playing around with ink.

And it seems I couldn’t stop before making this lurid, psychedelic piece.

There are more Tashas coming. Better Tashas. Stay tuned.

      • Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, truly… maybe look at it again in a few weeks? You might feel differently. I too put up everything I draw, it’s a very intimate and revealing thing to do, I think.

      • Thanks Rebecca, it’s encouraging to hear. Sometimes I’m just so tempted to post up the polished stuff, and it’s not what these blogs are about. It’s good to remember that it’s all about the process; that’s what gives them soul. šŸ™‚

      • You’re so right. And I think sometimes it’s helpful to see other people’s struggles, and also to receive kind, constructive comments when you feel you’re having an unsatisfactory day. I know it all helps me (although, frankly, I’m struggling to knuckle down at the moment) šŸ™‚

      • Keep at it! Like you said, it’s in the eye of the beholder. And I believe when we have those periods of frustration, it’s because we are experiencing growing pains. As long as you don’t give up, you’re actually pushing youself to the next level!

      • Wise words, thank you – hopefully I’ll get my mojo back this week. The boys are off walking in North Wales, so I’ll have some time to myself. That might be just what’s needed.
