Here’s a whopper of a job I’ve had the absolute pleasure to work on recently: a mural at Todmorden Library!
The brief was simply to decorate the bland wall at the back entrance with scenes of Todmorden, and for it to be bright. So I set to work with hand drawn sketches of local landmarks on tracing paper…
and tried different ways of conveying three valleys into one, 2-D design:
This design was approved, and so I set to work on “defacing” their wall! 🙂
Here is a slideshow of the progress over five days:
And now let me show you all the landmarks, up close!
From left to right:
And here is it again, all together:
A BIG THANK YOU to Sarah, Roberta and all the wonderful staff at Todmorden Library.
If you’d like to see it in person, this mural is located at the ramp/accessible entrance of the library. You can get there from inside the library by turning right just before the kids’ section, or from outside by using the entrance on Hall Street.
The library is located at 8 Rochdale Road in Todmorden.
