This artwork was drawn as the title page for the messages book at my friend Eowyn’s funeral.
If you knew Eowyn, then you’ll know she wasn’t all that fairy-like… “Raging Warrior Queen” comes more readily to mind. But she DID love the classic flower fairies, and she loved picking blackberries every year and making awesome jams. And steampunk.
She was an inspiration to all who met her, living life full-on, and being so brave and candid through the illness she fought, twice. One thing she always wanted people to know and share were the signs of ovarian cancer, because it’s just not talked about enough.
I will miss you, you crazy bitch. Here’s to you *raises inappropriately timed glass of mimosa*.
